Our team

Our Team consists of a deeply engaged team of Board of Directors and a tightly streamlined staff with rotating youth interns who are part of our Youth Global Fellowship initiative. We are grateful to Humber College of School of Social and Community Services for consistently partnering with us to work with their highly dedicated interns from a variety of their programs.

jenita, research fellow

My name is Jenita Singh and I am pursing a career in Psychology. I hope to one day be a Juvenile Psychotherapist working in a youth detention centre to encourage change in the lives of our youth. My interest in psychology stems from my own personal experience as a young girl with a mental illness trying to navigate the world. I was very misunderstood as a child therefore I am devoted to offering support and resources to youth.  I graduated from Humber College with a Community and Justice Services Diploma and I am now enrolled at Seneca College in the Honours Bachelors of Behavioural Psychology Program.  I plan to obtain a masters degree in Counselling Psychology after I graduate and eventually obtain a PhD in Psychology. Although I spend most of my time studying or reading the DSM, I love to hang out with friends & cook.

REBECCA, RESEARCH FELLOW

Rebecca Howe is 3rd year of Humber Colleges Bachelors of Criminal Justice. I have my diploma in Police Foundations  and hope purse a career in the court system, by focusing my time with helping vulnerable populations like the mental health and youth communities. My passion for working with mental health and youth comes from first hand experiences of the people I associated the closet in high school, where I saw that people with both neurodevelopmental and mental health disorder were second hand citizens. I hope I can use my deep seated passion for this community and make substantial change in a persons life and remind them that they are first class citizens. When I am not advocating for legal quality I am talking time to create memories through exploration in nature with my closest friends or gaming.

sadiah rahmani, research fellow

My name is Sadiah Rahmani and I am studying for a Bachelor of Social Science in Criminal Justice. I have my diploma in Community Justice Services and hope to pursue a career working with victims services and specifically working with women and children. My commitment to social change stems from my personal journey as an Afghan immigrant. I have first hand witnessed the effects of social disparities and conflicts and I take these experiences as an opportunity to help others who may be going through similar experiences as myself. I actively raise awareness on social issues and social movements and seek to converse with those who are willing to learn. I commit to ongoing education in social sectors to further develop my knowledge and understanding of the social justice system. When I am not advocating for social justices I am taking the time to connect with my friends and family, spending time in nature, reading for self development and exercising.
